I find 110 pound cardstock is both stiff enough and opaque enough to make sturdy
cards, but still flexible enough to go through almost any printer.

I usually have a stock of A4 sheets - 180g/mē. It’s the best material
I can find here in Brazil.

I print the cards on paper, then insert the paper into a
plastic card protector with a card in it already.

Some people also print their cards onto adheasive
labels and then stick them to standard playing cards.
Personally, I run some heavy cardstock through my
printer and then use a sheet cutter to cut them out.

Note, however, that some ink jet will produce cards that smear if you try this
method. Since adhesive paper is expensive, be sure to experiment before you
invest in a lot of it!

By the way, I’ve just tried using glossy photographic paper (200g/mē)
and setting my printer to maximum quality (1200dpi) on my Devastators
card set (yes, it’s finished... I’ll upload the cards soon).
The result was fantastic, but I must say the cost was something bitter
(my color cartridge emptied and I needed to buy a new one).
Even using this method, card protectors are a must for me, specially
those with opaque colored backs, so I don’t need to print the back
of the cards.

My poorman’s solution is printing on normal paper, cutting up stiff
magazine covers, leftover cardboard from food packages and the such like.
Then I use the plastic cover protectors with dark back and “hey
presto” the cards are ready to be used.
This way I can print using the “normal” printer setup, use everyday
paper and recycle the stiff one.

I think I am going to use blank index cards.

One thing I did for cards was print them out on paper, then cut them out
and glue them onto old Magic the Gathering cards. I have an abominable
amount of crappy common cards and lands for this purpose.

Mech Miniatures

From: Peter Cobcroft curufea@gmail.com
They are rare because they are very difficult to design.

Umm, that’s only if you want 3d minatures. If you’re
satisfied with 2d minatures, then you should be able
to make some pretty easially with all of the multiple
angle graphics of the Mechs that are available.
