Digital Design Laboratory Sourceforge Project Website
Project Primary Goal
To convert free Warpspawn games from paper to an interactive digital format.
More people, playing more Warpspawn games, in more places.
Project Overview
No eye-candy, trigger fingers, or human vegatables here, just food for the imagination & playgrounds for the brain. Warpspawn Digital Design Laboratories (WaDDL) favors game mechanics, game design, strategy, A.I., and variety over brain-dead glitter & awe. WaDDL is designed to provide small operating-system independent, resource-friendly, digital versions of the great Warpspawn pen & paper games which trancsend time & space, both real & imaginary; through foreign lands, epic battles, and alien worlds. Do not think of WaDDL as a replacement for cool cards or playing against friends, but as a kick-start, no assembly required, robot G.M./accountant, multi-player A.I., and eventually a text-only digital game design laboratory.

Development Guidelines
- Operating system independent (Windows, *nix, MAC, anywhere you can run Python 2.3 or higher)
- Resource friendly (memory, CPU & hard drive requirements negligible)
- Tiny file-size (dial-up access friendly)
- Eliminate file littering (all WaDDL modules, cards, etc. can be extracted & run from within the same exact folder)
- Complete stand-alone packages (all program logic is contained in 1 file, external files are only used for cards, rules, scripts & A.I.)
- Text-only (true portability/platform independence, dramatically speeds up development, minimizes complexity of application).
- Support for turn-based (not real-time) card, board and dice stragegy games.
End-User Tools
